Terms of Use
Settlement Finder
Last updated: 23 August 2026
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Settlement Finder you agree to these Terms. If you do
not agree, do not use the app.
2. What Settlement Finder is — and is not
Settlement Finder helps you discover open United States class action
settlements that may apply to you, shows you each one's deadline and what proof
it requires, and links you to the settlement administrator's own official claim
site.
Read the following carefully:
- We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice or legal services.
- Using the app does not create an attorney-client relationship between you
and us or anyone else.
- We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any court, any
settlement administrator, any class counsel, or any defendant named in a
settlement.
- We never complete or submit a claim for you. You file directly with the
administrator, on their website.
- We never take a share of your payout. Any money you are awarded is paid to
you by the administrator.
3. Eligibility is not ours to decide
Whether you are a member of a settlement class is determined **solely by that
settlement's class definition and by the claims administrator or the court** —
never by this app.
The app shows you the class definition in the notice's own words so you can
judge for yourself. Anything the app labels "likely eligible", "possibly
eligible" or similar is a summary of how far your own answers go toward that
definition. It is not a determination that you qualify, and we do not
guarantee that any claim you submit will be accepted or paid.
4. Estimated amounts
Any figure shown is an estimate based on published information about a
settlement. Actual payments are set by the claims administrator and typically
depend on how many valid claims are filed, on court-approved fees and expenses,
and on the plan of allocation.
Some settlements do not have a per-person amount at all — the fund is divided
among everyone who files. Where that is the case the app says so instead of
showing a figure. No amount shown is a promise of payment.
5. Your responsibility when filing
**Only submit a claim if you genuinely believe the class definition applies to
you.** Claim forms are typically signed under penalty of perjury. Submitting a
claim you are not entitled to may constitute fraud and may carry civil or
criminal consequences. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of anything
you submit to an administrator.
6. Accuracy of information
We verify settlement details against official administrator sources and re-check
them regularly. Even so, courts extend deadlines, settlements close, and terms
change without notice.
**Always confirm the deadline and the requirements on the administrator's own
site before you rely on them.** We provide the information "as is" and do not
warrant that it is complete, current, or error-free, and we are not liable for a
claim window you miss.
7. Subscriptions
Settlement Finder requires an auto-renewing subscription.
- The price and billing period are shown in the app before you purchase, in your
local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at
least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of
the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings under
your Apple Account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, under Apple's Media Services
terms. We cannot issue refunds.
- Use of the app is also subject to Apple's
Media Services Terms and Conditions.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse engineer the app, use it to scrape or resell settlement
data, or use it to submit claims you are not entitled to.
9. Intellectual property
The app, its design, and the summaries we write are ours. Class definitions,
court documents and official notices quoted in the app are public court records
and are reproduced for identification and accuracy. Company names and marks
appearing in the app belong to their owners and are used only to identify the
settlement concerned; their appearance does not imply any affiliation or
endorsement.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind
to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect,
incidental, consequential or special damages, or for any lost payment, missed
deadline, rejected claim, or lost opportunity arising from your use of the app.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount
you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under
applicable law, including your rights as a consumer.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms; the date at the top will change and significant
changes will be shown in the app. We may suspend or discontinue the app or any
feature at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to
conflict of law rules. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory
consumer law in your country of residence.
